Tasting Notes
As the inaugural vintage of Cholame Vineyard’s Petite Sirah, the 2016’s nose expresses characteristics reminiscent of wild blueberries, spice, cigar box and violets with a strikingly brimming palate laden with overtones of dark berries, plums, currants, dark chocolate, a hint of vanilla cinnamon and espresso all creating a pronounced mid-palate while cascading into the vigorous finish punctuated with bold tannins creating a perfect backdrop to Standing Rib, Rack of Lamb, seared Portobello or Chanterelle mushrooms, grilled eggplant as well as sharp cheddar, smokey blue or goat gouda cheeses. Will cellar easily through 2025.
