2015 Red Blend – Cross Country®

$28.00$336.00

In the Cholame Valley, there are several roads named “Cross Country.” My neighbor Ted humorously shares that none of them connect. Each afternoon, horses, bicyclists, groups of hot rods, Porsches and Corvettes all pass by our vineyard on their own cross-country excursions. When working the vineyard, every motorcycle riding by makes me look up; not sure if I wouldn’t rather be riding with them. Cross Country® is a natural name for a blend of Mourvedre, Grenache and Petite Syrah. Try this wine on your next cross country experience.

Tasting Notes

This classic GSM presents first expressions of dark stone fruit and cranberry with the palate hinting of Montmorency cherries, plum, a whiff of pipe tobacco and leather. An impressive mid-palate with nuances of dark chocolate, cranberry, Bing cherries and anise carries through to a satisfying finish with smooth tannins, which linger with touches of cigar box and cardamom. Great with roasts, grilled vegetables, game and Brillat-Savarin and Cotswold cheeses. Will cellar through 2022.
